When My Name was Keoko- Settings
The story took place in South Korea, but it was part of Japan at that time because of Japan's victory. The conflicts mostly happen in Sun-hee and Tae-Yul's house and also in their schools. Later, Uncle gets locked in North Korea after Japan surrenders. Then, Korea gets back their freedom.

Great description!!!!! I think that how the setting is, it would be very hard to be a Korean living under Japanese rule at that time. I also think that a very important part of the setting is that because of the Japanese rule, there is no sight of the Korean flag, or anything that symbolizes Korea =(
I think you did a great job!! <3
hehe
Ooooh~ My book is in a very similar setting to yours! Mine is also when the Japanese ruled Korea. And like your book, the KOreans regain their freedom towards the end of the book. Anyways.. Good Job in your posting and remember to go on my blog too once in a while~ :3
